Meanwhile, deep in the mysterious forest of Zop, the Oogly Boogly People, or the Oobooples, were waging an unending war against the other denizens of the wooded playland – the Bargles.

The Bargles, as everyone knows, were horrible little spit-monsters, with rough black fur on their limbs and patchy white fur on their bodies, whereas the Oobooples were more like little green lizard-people, with no ears or noses, and complexions made of tiny interlocking scales.

They were at war to see who could be the ruler of the Paggle Tree, a magical plant which spurted lollypops and mashed potatoes in gravy on a regular basis, and once ever two years – crispy fried chunks of pineapple, covered in rich white chocolate.

Anyway, the whole thing was quite a mess. I’ll tell you how it all worked out, some other time.
